About Me

My name is Theo Vermolen. Born on May 20, 1953 in Arnhem, The Netherlands. I am married to Ingrid, we have two children: Esther and Sander.

Originally trained as a chemical analyst (1975) and technical chemist (1984), I obtained a master's degree in analytical chemistry (1994).
In addition to my work in the laboratory, I developed an interest in photography. At the age of 17, I bought my first SLR camera (Exacta) and installed a darkroom at my parents' attic. After my marriage (1979), the darkroom was moved to my new home and remained operational until the digital age.
In the late 1970s I became a member of the company photo club and later on the administrator of the photo clubs' darkroom.

In 2008 the analog era was ended. I bought my first Nikon D80 DSLR body and gradually expanded my equipment and my skills.
Over the years I have tried to develop my own style, whether or not successfully, but above all, the satisfaction is, when I return home and the picture I took, tells me the story of what I saw and what I felt.
